New post -
There’s something magical about seeds, isn’t there?
Tiny little specks of possibility — dry, wrinkled, barely there — and yet tucked inside each one is a future meal, a burst of colour, and a reminder that growth always starts small.
At The Organic Yarden, we believe gardening should be fun, forgiving, and full of hope. That’s why I’m so excited to launch a brand-new series here on the blog and across our social media:
This series is all about sharing the real, relatable story of growing vegetables — from the moment the seed packet rustles open, to the day we proudly carry a harvest basket into the kitchen.
From Soil to Supper is a beginner-friendly, heart-centred guide to growing your own food.
Each week, we’ll spotlight a different vegetable that we grow organically here at The Organic Yarden.
You’ll see:
How the seed looks when it’s sown
What early growth stages you can expect
Honest, real-life tips (because let’s be honest, sometimes nature has other plans!)
How to know when it's harvest time
Fun ways to use your homegrown food in the kitchen
Think of it like a veggie storybook — where every plant is the hero of its own delicious adventure!
New gardeners who aren’t sure where to start
Balcony growers, container gardeners, or small-space heroes
People who want to grow some of their food, even if it’s just one pot of spinach
Anyone who believes that good things take time, patience, and a little love
Gardeners who sometimes forget to water but still want to try again (hi, ADHD friends, I see you! 👋)
Whether you’ve got an allotment, a windowsill, or just a handful of pots, this series is for you.
Here’s a sneak peek at the stars of our first season:
🍅 Tomato — Seed Stage Sass (aka the neediest diva, but worth it!)
🥬 Spinach — Growing Strong (small leaves, big dreams)
🌱 Beetroot — Rooting for You (the underground beauty)
🧄 Elephant Garlic — Gentle Giant (the slow but steady champion)
🥔 Potato — Hidden Treasure (nature’s Easter egg hunt!)
And soon we’ll be adding:
Courgettes, Radishes, Lettuce, and more!
Each vegetable will get its own series of posts, with a special Vintage Trading Card to collect along the way (because gardening should be fun, and who doesn’t love a good trading card?).
When we sow seeds, we do more than grow plants.
We grow hope.
We grow patience.
We grow the belief that tomorrow can be better.
Even when life feels uncertain, messy, or a bit broken (and believe me, it does sometimes), putting a seed in the soil reminds us:
there’s always a new beginning available to us.
No seed ever apologises for starting small.
No garden ever rushes to bloom overnight.
And neither should we.

I started The Organic Yarden because gardening helped me find peace in the chaos of life — and I want you to find that peace too.
You don’t need a big plot.
You don’t need fancy tools.
You just need a little patch of hope... and maybe a slightly stubborn courgette.
So grab your seeds, pull on your boots (or slippers, no judgement here), and let’s start this journey together.
From soil... to supper.
One seed, one sprout, one beautiful bite at a time. 💚
Happy sowing, lovely souls!
