Looking for a little something special for a party, gathering or festive table? These Pastry Party Star Nibbles are just the thing!
Made with flaky vegan puff pastry and filled with delicious combinations of homemade cranberry sauce, mango chutney, vegan cheeses, berries and nuts, these little pastry stars are full of flavour and look wonderfully impressive on a sharing platter.
The best bit? They are much easier to make than they look! 😂
We made ours in star shapes for a little extra wow factor, but you can use whatever cutters you have — hearts, circles, little trees or even simple squares would work perfectly.
We made two tasty combinations:
🍊 Vegan Soft Cheese & Mango Chutney
A creamy, sweet and savoury combination with plenty of flavour.
🫐 Vegan Feta, Cranberry & Berries
A lovely festive combination with the salty creaminess of vegan feta, homemade cranberry sauce and a little fruity sweetness.
They're perfect for Christmas parties, buffets, family gatherings, afternoon nibbles or simply when you fancy making something a little bit special.
And because they're made with ready-made vegan puff pastry, you don't need to be a pastry chef to make them!
Little stars of pastry, filled with delicious things — what's not to love?
Puff Pastry Party Nibbles
Ingredients
Ready made Puff Pastry - Most are Vegan check the packaging but I used Lidl's own Brand
Cranberry Sauce
Mango chutney
Vegan Soft Cheese
Vegan Feta Cheese
Chopped nuts and berries ( optional)
Star cutter in two sizes ( optional)
The How to Bit
Preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F
Roll out the ready-made puff pastry and cut out your stars ( or whatever shape you have chosen). Make sure you have an even number of stars.
To make the sides of the cases, you need a slightly smaller cutter; divide your stars into two equal piles. Using the smaller cutter, cut out an aperture from one pile of stars,( You can re-roll the left-over pastry and cut out more stars if you like)
Using Oat Milk wash to attach the full bottoms to the cut-out tops, making a well for your fillings.
Place the puff pastry cases on a lined baking sheet
Fill half the cases with Vegan Feta and homemade cranberry sauce, topped with chopped berries or nuts
Fill the other half of the cases with Vegan Soft cheese and mango chutney
Brush with egg and cook in the oven for 15 minutes or until risen and golden
