New post -
Many of you might remember my old blog, Snapshot & Snippets, where I chronicled over 12 years of my life – from our organic garden to family recipes, crafting, and meal planning. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn, and I had to say goodbye to that beloved blog during a difficult period of my life. Losing those years of posts was heartbreaking, especially since I had also written a book, A Year in the Organic Garden, based on my blog.
Life has a way of bringing new beginnings, even when it feels like everything is falling apart. After a tough breakup and a divorce, I found love again in the most unexpected place – on Twitter, during Veganuary in January 2020. That’s where I met Mark, known as @ThatVeganScot, and our shared passions for vegan cooking and gardening brought us closer. Our online friendship blossomed into love, and we got engaged in December 2020 at the beautiful Edinburgh Castle.
Now, with Mark by my side, we’ve embraced a new chapter in our lives. We moved into a new home, where instead of a traditional garden, we have our beloved "Yarden."
Our Yarden is a unique space filled with over 130 pots, each bursting with life. From vegetables and fruits – including grapes, thanks to our little microclimate – to flowers, bushes, and even a little Rowan tree, our Yarden is a testament to the beauty and productivity of container gardening. This year, we added a large raised bed to grow even more vegetables.
We also have a small pond, making our Yarden a haven for wildlife. Despite the changes, we remain dedicated to organic gardening, a passion that Mark and I share deeply.
I’m excited to share that many of the printable guides from my old blog have found a new home here. Whether you’re looking to start your own vegetable garden, grow fruits, or cultivate herbs, we have guides to help you every step of the way. These resources are available for anyone who wants to embrace the joy of growing their own food organically.
Thank you for visiting our Little Vegan Kitchen and Yarden. We hope our story inspires you, whether you’re exploring veganism, starting your Own Vegetable garden, or simply looking for a community of like-minded individuals. Join us as we continue to share our favourite recipes, gardening tips, and the joys of sustainable living.
With love and gratitude, Amber and Mark
